5k RACE & 5k FUN RUN : 29 SEPTEMBER 2024

The fast and flat #ShelfordFunRun is a measured 5k course on closed roads through the villages of Great and Little Shelford.

The UKA registered 5k race and 5k fun run are both chip timed and will set off in two waves.

For serious runners it’s a great chance to register a Personal Best.

For beginners and family groups the event is perfect! You can walk or jog at your own pace, enjoy the villages car free and savour the atmosphere.

Whatever your reason for running, you will enjoy a great day out and your participation will help support the work of Shelford Playscape and CamRARE!

To avoid a few other local events and to give everyone a little bit more time to get organised after the summer holidays (not least our organising committee!), we are moving to the last weekend in September.  Hopefully this will also mean we won’t have such melting hot temperatures to contend with!

Sign up to our newsletter to get notified when registration opens (don’t worry you won’t be bombarded with messages, we only send out a few emails each year).

We would love to hear from anyone interested in joining the Shelford Fun Run committee to keep this much loved event going!

No running expertise is required, just an enthusiasm for inclusive community events.  The commitment can vary from helping to plan the event throughout the year (from arranging road closures to putting up posters) to getting stuck in in the last week with all the final preparations.

We also need a large number of on the day volunteers to help set up the event, register runners, marshal the route, photograph the event and help to clear up.

Please email funrun@shelfordplayscape.org if you fancy joining the committee or can offer a helping hand on the day!
