The UKA 5k Run/ Fun Run on Sunday 10th September 2023

When you register and run in the Shelford Fun Run, you run entirely at your own risk. You declare that you are fit to run. The organisers will not be held responsible for any injury sustained during or as a result of taking part in this event, or for any loss or damage to property.

Where you have registered or entered on behalf of anyone under the age of 18 you also agree to the contents of the terms and conditions on behalf of the person under 18.

Younger participants must be accompanied and supervised by an adult who is responsible for their safety.

Please be mindful of spectators and pedestrians and stay on the marked route on the road, not the pavement.

No dogs and no scooters will be permitted on the course.  This applies to both the 5k race and the fun run.

Buggies and mobility aids are welcome in the fun run.

Headphones are not recommended, but are not prohibited as the race is on closed roads.  If you do wear headphones, please ensure the volume is adjusted to allow you to hear instructions from organisers and marshals, and so you can be alert to other runners around you.

We recommend that you warm up and cool down properly before taking part in the event or training.

We recommend carrying emergency contact details with you on your run and a list of any medical conditions you have, these should be written on the reverse of your race number.

If participants would like to receive a medal, please indicate this at the time of registration by ticking the appropriate box.

This is a charity event staffed by volunteers and, while all effort will be made to record finish times, the organisers take no responsibility for times not recorded accurately.  If an accurate time is imperative we ask competitors to record their own times.  All times and positions recorded will be published as soon as possible after the event.

Accessibility

We aim to be as inclusive event as possible, please do get in touch with any particular access needs that you have.

The 5k route is very flat and the majority is on the road but there are some speed humps as you exit and enter the car park area. The start and finishing straight and the race village is on grass on the recreation ground.

The Super Sensory 1k is a circuit of the recreation ground and is all on grass.

There will be toilets available for all participants in the Great Shelford Memorial Hall and the sports pavilion, including accessible toilets.  We will also have a ‘Revoloo’ mobile changing places toilet available on the day.

Photography

We will take photos of the event and there will be photographers on the course as well as the start and finish area.  The photos will be available via the Shelford Fun Run Facebook page after the event, and we will use some of them on our other social media channels and in future publicity.

If you do not want your photo to be used, please tell the volunteers at registration.

We would love you to share your photographs with us on social media or by emailing images to us at funrun@shelfordplayscape.org
