9am – 10.30am
Upon arrival, please go to the Great Shelford Memorial Hall with your email detailing the race numbers you have been allocated. If you don't have your email, there will be lists available for you to look them up. The team will provide you with your race number and safety pins.
10.40am – Warm-up
There will be a warm-up session taken by Gymbo's (http://gymbos.co.uk/) on the recreation ground for all runners … it’s important to get those muscles working before you set off!
10.50am – Get ready!
All runners will line up at the start line.
11am – Go!
A loud hooter will sound and the fun will begin. Good luck!
The finishing line is in the same place as the start line. Try not to stop once you have crossed the finish line. Remain in the order you finished and move through the finish funnel. Your number must be worn on your front and must be visible when you cross the line or else you will not get a finish time or position. Also do not remove your vest until out of the funnel. It is important that when you have finished your race you do not run back along the course and run in with another runner, this can cause double entry of numbers and incorrect results. After you exit the funnel you will receive a well-deserved medal and goodie bag. However, best of all you will have the satisfaction of a great achievement.
Photographers will be located on the course and at the start/finish area. The photos will be available via the fun run Facebook page after the event.
A medical team will be on hand for any medical needs.
These are located inside the Race Centre and pavilion adjacent to the start/finish line.
Bags & Changing
There will be an area in the Race Centre where bags can be left, but it will be entirely at your own risk. It would be best to not leave valuables in your luggage.
This is a charity fun run staffed by volunteers and, while all effort will be made to record finish times, the organisers take no responsibility for failure to record times accurately. If an accurate race time is imperative to competitors we ask that they bring their own watches to record their times. All times and positions will be uploaded to the website as soon as possible after the event.
We recommend that head phones are not worn on the run. This is so that you can hear any directions or annoucements while you are running.
Fit Again Sports Therapy (F.A.S.T) - (http://www.fitagainsportstherapy.com/) will be providing free sports massage.
Food and drink
Local retailers will have stalls/vans selling a variety of refreshments. If you need something a little stronger there are two pubs (the Square & Compasses and the Plough) just a few minutes walk from the Race Centre. Any local will point you in the right direction.
